One leaves, doomed by fate. The other remains, left to mourn. Before that final farewell, a last, desperate conversation to avert calamity.
We'll Talk When I Return is a single session, two-player GM-less TTRPG. Players collaborate to create a scenario, with one player taking the role of the One Who Leaves, and the other taking the role of the One Who Stays. Using prompts that can be chosen or randomly rolled for, the players are set in the final conversation between two people. The One Who Leaves is set to depart, crossing the threshold never to return. The One Who Stays, knowing this in some part of themself, tries to prevent this, if only for one more day.
Through the roleplaying of this scene, the players push and pull the conversation using prompts, trying to reduce their scores to zero. Once this has occurred, the game ends, be it in hope, or tragedy.
