Fallen Kingdom: Playtest

A kingdom dies under a sea of gray clouds. Beneath this endless, tumbling expanse, the land decays, fauna rots, and a withering plague ravages the populace. Within a gnarled, decaying forest a chasm opens, revealing an Inverted Tower that plummets down into the bowels of the earth, the genesis of this calamity. It's discovery marshals armies and heroes alike, all lost to this abyss.

Now, seven years since its discovery, a proclamation is made; whomsoever ventures into this accursed place, and brings an end to this calamity will have their greatest wish granted unto them. You are yet another entering the Inverted Tower, pursuing its deepest depths with vainglorious purpose. In this condemned quest there is but one truth.

You will lose everything and sacrifice more.

Fallen Kingdom is a dark fantasy dungeon-crawling TTRPG system with horror elements focused around managing supplies and statuses to ensure survival in increasingly dangerous and dire circumstances. It utilizes a classless D20 roll-under system, allowing player characters to be built to suit the needs of their circumstances, and the desires of their players, from specialists tailored to one style of play, to hybrid jack of all trades that fill whatever gaps are needed.

This playtest version of the game includes 174 pages of content, including rules for character creation, rules for play, spells and abilities that can be discovered or taken, monsters to encounter, and more. It does however, represent a work in progress, and changes are still being made and additional content implemented ahead of its full release. Further updates will include changes to the book and character sheet to reflect ongoing updates, as well as additional content.
